Bernadette Peters

 Bernadette (nee Lazzara) Peters is an American singer and actress. She has appeared on films, television, musical theatre , and solo performances, as well as on recorded recordings. Her career spans more than six decades. She is a highly regarded Broadway performerwho has received seven nominations for Tony Awards, winning two (plus an honorary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations, getting three. Grammy Awards have been won by four of her Broadway productions in which she has starred.



 



 Peters is widely recognized as the most famous interpreter of the works written by Stephen Sondheim. Her roles on Broadway include Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (84), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods with George (87), The Goodbye Girl(93), Annie Get Your Gun 1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2009), Follies (2011) and Hello, Dolly (2018).
